Northants Triumph Owners trip to the Netherlands

Over the weekend of 9 th-10th June 1984 the Northants Branch took its first ever overseas tip. Sailing on the overnight ferry from Sheerness on Friday 8th June and landing in Vlissingen the following morning.

The Saturday was spent at De Efteling theme park, followed by an overnight stop at a camp site near Eindhoven. On the Sunday we went to the National War and Resistance Museum at Overloon then back to Vlissingen for the ferry back to England.

The party consisted of 11 people, 6 Triumphs and 1 Vauxhall Chevanne. One of the bikes seized up just a few miles into the Netherlands and was left at a roadside café. It was then towed back to the port on the Sunday evening; the rider then calling out either AA or RAC assistance on the Monday morning at Sheerness.

The photos in this folder come from three different sources: Ian Sargent, Mike Thompson and Richard Short. As far as can be determined they are numbered in the order that they were taken.
